What is Himalayan Consensus Certified?

Himalayan Consensus Certified is a designation given by The Himalayan Consensus to products, services and projects which support ethnic diversity and cultural sustainable development. All Himalayan Consensus Certified products, services and products provide indigenous peoples with the sustainable means to preserve their culture, heritage, identity, and the environments in which they live through self-empowerment provided by a sustainable economic platform.

The economic foundations of a Himalayan Consensus Certified product, service or project can take many forms: geo-tourism and hotels which preserve local architecture and the environment; artisan cooperatives and community culture centers; centers for local dance, music and other performing arts; environmental and alternative energy initiatives; or commercialization of local agricultural products.

Himalayan Consensus Certified products, services and projects are produced or provided by communities of people powered by and collaborating to actualize the tenets of The Himalayan Consensus Certified Charter.
