ZhuangXin Tower Buddhist Temple Project

Mission Statement
The ZhuangXin Tower Buddhist Temple Project aims to protect the survival of this special temple and to conserve the biodiversity of farmland and forests in the surrounding area. Moreover, it promotes sustainable farming by planting organic sugarcane crops at the base of the temple in Xishuangbanna, Yunnan. ZhuangXin also focuses on local water conservation, whereby information is disseminated through, local, traditional knowledge about ecological protection.
Activities of Organisation
Buddhist meditation halls and cabins have been constructed in nearby forests around ZhuangXin Tower,, which provides a convenient and relaxing stop for pilgrims and scholars. A community center explaining much about the projects has been set up to educate passersby about these local projects as well. Lastly, Dai history and culture is promoted and preserved throughout the center.
In order to preserve the ecosystem of the rainforest, many medicinal herbs and flowers have been planted, such as castanea and orchid, in accordance with the soil and climate. The “all-in-one service” from seed provision to purchasing, production and sales are available through TianZi Biodiversity Research & Development Centre. The Centre provides opportunities for biodiversity fieldwork with domestic and foreign experts.

It enshrined the cultural legacy of the Buddhist temples in Xishuangbanna and local Dai ethnic culture through biodiversity and environmental protection background. By preserving the forest and biodiversity projects while highlighting traditional cultures. Additionally, it provides local women and children with a self-sustainable future through education programs and tradition conservation.
