Himalayan Consensus is announced at the Asia Society Headquarters in New York City on Oct 13, during a panel talk between Orville Schell and Michael Zhao. Himalayan Consensus founder Laurence Brahm discussed the principles of the Himalayan Consensus as detailed in his latest book, The Anti-Globalization Breakfast Club:Manifesto for a Peaceful Revolution, as well as, discussed the launch of the www.himalayanconsensus.org movement website. The Himalayas are a massive mountain range revered as one of the Earth's incredible land features, earning the title "roof of the world." But the Himalayas represent much more than a beautiful setting, one which attracts the most experienced climbers around the world. The Himalayas are a life-giving force because its glaciers provide fresh water to the deltas below. Thus, it is imperative that the global community focuses on reversing the effects of global warming and protect this tremendous water supply.
